Monday, December 28th, 2009Things if your child is attending a one week or eight one-week camp, packing can seem a daunting task. Here are to consider before you begin for a camp, the luggage to use and the additional items you can forget.
1. Things to research before you start packing for camp
• Can I get a list of camp clothes? This could be your best source of information for what the field may need and it does not. In the list, you can find a range of clothing and other things recommended for individuals to bring events like overnight campouts or themed activities. If you have not received a list of items dress, you can call the camp or visit their website and see if the list is available.
• What not to bring? Each camp is different and has its own rules for which all campers are allowed. So ask about it.
• They want the uniform? Several camps try to lessen "competition dress "among the campers to have uniforms. Some fields require all clothing to include the logo of the camp, some may require a special shirt and color short term. Be sure to clarify any questions about your child needed clothes before your child leaves for camp.
• What things do you offer the camp? Some camps provide bed sheets, mattresses, blankets and towels and some even supply. Check your clothing catalog for more information about things the camp offers.
2. Select the type of luggage: Now you have the elements needed to pack, what type of luggage to be Use? Here is the list of the most common types of luggage and professional and cons of each.
• A canvas bag: It's big and strong, but can be damaged if sent.
• Family: Good for camps with longer stays and also is tough and not easily damaged if sent when it is bulky.
• Case: Ideal for both shortstop; easy to organize your clothes, since most have many compartments, easier for a child for alone as most have wheels and handles.
Things you should not forget:
• Linda with an identification card to each piece of luggage.
• Enter key combination lock or extra locks. Put them in a safe place for your child or you could give copies to your child's counselor or principal the field (some require it).
• Find out if you can ship luggage directly from his residence at the camp. Transport companies and many camps have assigned to consider shipping your luggage through another carrier.
Extras you can forget
• Drugs: Find the Field events for handling daily medications or refills.
• Forms: Most fields need a vaccination and a health assessment shape. Ask when you need to send completed forms to camp.
• Current contact information: If your contact information has changed since you registered your child for camp and then call the camp director to update your new contact information.
